WOMFT? Top 3 Sneaker of 2019

2019 is coming to an end. Every one of us takes his personal grail of 2019 into the new year:

@thedew
My favorite release of 2019 is the Nike AJI x Travis Scott – hype or not.
First Jordan 1 with upside-down Swoosh, top colourway – especially in combination with the pink laces and finest nubuck and tumbled leather.
“Cactus Jack” embossing on the heel, co-branding on tongue and insole as well as the hidden stash pocket make it clear who has delivered here. Since Travis rocked the thing on various stops of his last year’s Astro World Tour the buzz has been building up bit by bit and didn’t ebb away – as usual – shortly after the release.
This shoe tells a story and it makes it credible. Best of 2019!

For me, it would actually be the SONRA “+431”, because I have been involved in this project from the very beginning. In the packed release calendar it needs a unique selling point for me to be remembered – in this case a personal reference. But since the “Vienna” is already on our list, I decided to go for another shoe: the Adidas ZX 500 “Jordan” as size? Exclusive.
The 500 in itself is an unagitated classic. The “Jordan” colorway as part of the size? Pack around the rather unknown, obscure marathon courses of this earth is a fresh breeze on the timeless ZX silhouette and the price for all this is more than fair. My Best of 2019 is supposed to be representative for the many good GRs, which were in my opinion much more interesting than most collabos this year. No Hype needed.

Exceptions confirm the rule: in this context it should of course be mentioned that Overkill delivered their ZXs correctly!

Yes, I chose “our” SONRA Proto “+431”, so sorry.
Not to celebrate myself, but all the great people who made this project possible: my wife Nora for helping with the idea and her patience. My WOMFT? family for the whole campaign with great help from the homies of “Hector Marcello”: Mainloop and Fidmella. My niece, who printed and polished lacejewel’s telephone receivers in laborious piecework. My Brassi Iyas, who helped from varnishing the speakers to the release event.
My employer, who gives me the freedom for such projects and last but not least the master himself, Hikmet Sugoer. I can’t thank you enough for this chance and your trust.

2019 was not bad, 2020 will be royal, swear. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
